Comment from the Coach

Team,

You need to recognise that most of the supporters are the wrong side of 40 now so tight finishes like today's are not good for our health!

After moving smoothly to a 5 nil lead, we had an attack of the wobbles to end up squeaking through with a 5-4 win.

A very tough game given the conditions and we knew the second half with that slope and the wind would be a difficult one to keep them goal-less - never-the-less we did manage this for 75% of the game so a  great effort - just need to focus on how we close out games.  But a win is a win in today's conditions and this keeps us at the top of the table.

Some excellent performances today.  Jonathon had the perfect debut - first kick was a goal and he followed that up with another in the second half, Martin played a perfectly balanced game as attacking mid-fielder both forward then behind the mid-field - suitably rewarded with 2 goals, Callum held his wing very well and made some great positional plays that were not spotted - we just need to feed him more and Rob was back to his solid self in defense whilst also managing a great headed goal.  Man-of-the-match today was James G who played a great defensive game with some trade-mark sliding tackles, excellent goal kicks and some fantastic floated corners that delivered us 3 goals and could have been more.
